We’ll admit it, we have an ulterior motive in getting our children interested in the art of Japanese bento box making. We reckon that if they get into the creative (if very fiddly) hobby of making arty lunches they might start packing their own school dinners. That’s the theory anyway. Bone up on the history of boxes here and follow this series of lessons to basic Bento-ing. This site is bursting with ideas, as is this and this flickr group. But really, the only way to learn how to make Bento is to learn from a DOG!!!
