Giant Steps

This weekend, the Museum of London celebrates the amazing life story of Charles Byrne, the ‘Irish Giant’, a fantastically tall man who was the talk of London in the late 1700s. Storytellers will tell you about the man who was supposedly so tall he could light his pipe from a gas lamp, but who died tragically young of alcoholism in his early 20s. After you’ve heard all about him, perhaps you’ll be inspired to go and see his skeleton in one of our very favourite London places, the Hunterian Museum. Free, Saturday and Sunday, various times.
