This weekend, the Chelsea Physic Garden starts its ‘Snowdrop Days‘, a celebration of the winter flower, whose appearance marks the very early stirrings of spring. The Physic Garden events are more adult-oriented, but there is guaranteed snowdrop action. Under 5s are free.

Otherwise, get out into your local park, or scour scrubland and even roundabouts or next to trees in the street to find wild versions. They pop up in unexpected places, so look hard and you’re sure to find a few. They’re really tempting for small hands to grab at, but don’t pick them. If you don’t find any, browse this gallery, crammed with different varieties, or watch this stunning timelapse video.
