East London’s Land of Kids festival sounds like our dream day out. It’s basically Hopscotch come to life. There’s a full day of events for kids aged 2-12. From ceilidhs to pop-up Kigu zoos, a Disco Loco hoedown, House of Hot Breath’s immersive disco-in-a-WW2-bunker, pirate school, shadow puppet-making, drumming workshops, reggae nursery rhymes, a scooter customisation shop, and Punchdrunk balloonists. Plus much, much more. Basically a year’s worth of entertainment crammed into one wonderful day. However, it’s pricey at £19.50 per person (under 2s free), and there are lots of other events this weekend. As a proper blow-out treat, though, it really can’t be beaten. More here
