The Chelsea Fringe festival is far more exciting than the main posh-sheds-and-water-features Flower Show. There are horticultural events shooting up all across London this weekend, many of them truly inventive and kid-friendly. Make a flower to contribute to a floating garden in Burgess Park, visit a fete and watch a film in the open air at the South London Botanical Institute, or eat borscht and watch a vegetable puppet show at the Ragged Canteen. There’s wheelbarrowfuls more going on; check out the full programme here. Mostly free, some events ticketed. Until June 12.
