Big Fish Little Fish

Our favourite London mini rave crew Big Fish Little Fish take over Acklam Village Market for another glittery, swirly, bubbly party. DJ Slipmatt makes his BFLF debut on the multi sensory dancefloor with glitter cannons, lights, bubbles and giant parachute dance. Captain Cookie leads the crafting activities for kids – play with play dough, and colour in a giant mural. Plus there’s a play area with tents and tunnels and a Villa Pia baby chill out space with soft mats, beanbags and ball pool. W10. Adults £9, kids £6. Saturday September 11. More here

Totally Thames Festival

Let’s celebrate one of the most overlooked (literally) London attractions – The Thames. There’s a whole new flotilla of Totally Thames events this weekend. Head to Brentford to play in a giant sandpit, explore the lives of river dwellers, and walk beneath the river (free), go for a family walk along the riverside and try birdwatching in Fulham (free, book in advance), watch the Thames Barge parade in West India Docks (free), and comb the foreshore near the Tower of London for historical objects (free).  All weekend. Across London. Full programme here

Made in Thamesmead

The brutalist walkways and new-build flats of Thamesmead will be awash with culture this weekend, as the area celebrates some of its most creative artists, as well as welcoming those from the rest of London. There will be live African music, dream jar, boat-making and lego workshops, walking tours, a pop-up bike shop – try out an electric bike or make a pedal-powered smoothie – and a free, outdoor screening of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. All weekend, programme here
