Museum of Childhood Film Festival

The Museum of Childhood is holding a mini film festival, with a different movie screening every Wednesday for the next five weeks. The films are a marvellously varied bunch, from Wallace and Gromit,  to The Adventures of Prince Achmed, the oldest surviving animated feature film. Plus there are workshops and activities to accompany every screening. £6.50. Wednesday mornings until August 31. More here

Kids Kino Club

The beautiful Regent Street Cinema was re-opened after extensive refurbishment in May 2015. Its history is jawdropping; the Lumière brothers’ demonstrated their Cinématographe machine here in 1896, making it the birthplace of cinema in the UK. Every Saturday morning, it runs the Kids’ Kino Club, with tickets at just £1.75 for children and accompanying adults. This month, see the 1951 animated version of Alice in Wonderland, The King and the Mockingbird, The Lion King, When Marnie Was There and the magical The Secret of Kells. More here
